Grechen’s Closet love
I just checked in with a blog I used to read religiously and was reminded why I like it so much (and why I’ll be getting myself in the habit of checking it first thing every morning, just like I do Huffington Post and WhatIWore). The first thing about this blog, Grechens Closet, is that the blogger, Grechen, is super nice! There’s a real, actual person behind that big website and she’s generous with her thoughts, advice and comments in a geniune way.
The other reason is her eye for color. Her blog may have been the first one where I saw the kind of unmatched pairing of colors in a way that I have always been drawn to and have in the past years taught my clients to appreciate and do for themselves.
Her post today, a review of a Vogel10 dress, is a perfect example of simple clothes with great details, complemented by fantastic handbags and shoes.
(Oh, I do have one little quibble with Grechen. It’s her fault that I’ve developed my little addiction to Virginia Johnson shawls! I first saw them on her site when she wrote about how much she loved them, and I tried one, and then I was hooked!)
By the way, Grechen talks about her site as a shopping and not fashion site. You can check it regularly for great coupons and deals, like the one she has on that great Vogel10 dress.
What’s YOUR first-thing-in-the-morning read? Is it news or fashion or something else entirely?
