People who wouldn’t dream of wearing a reindeer sweater at Christmas time love to wear red, white, and blue on (and before) the Fourth of July. I kind of like this tradition myself; like Thanksgiving, it is one of our American holidays that can be celebrated by all Americans. (I’ve written before about Fourth of July style here, and here are some pictures of the cute small-town parade I go to most years.) I recommend skipping the expected T-shirts and go for something a little more polished, whether you’re attending or hosting a barbecue or heading out to see fireworks. I also like to throw in something unexpected, just to keep things fresh — it could be a little bit of purple or pink, like these sunnies, or another strong color, like the yellow.
