Investing in your style
I know so many women who are curious, often extremely curious, about the work that I do. They read my newsletter, they listen to my webinars, they click through on blog posts. so I know they’re curious.
And it’s not because they’re curious about me. It’s because they’re dying to do more with their own image. It’s because they know they could do things a little differently and feel better and more confident.
The issue is that somehow they have the idea that it’s not ok to want to do these things. And that’s the part I’m not really sure about. Maybe to the high-achieving and super-smart women I’m talking about, it is something to be ashamed of, something superficial. Or maybe it’s because there actually is time, money, and effort involved in making some image adjustments. (I’d like to tell you there isn’t, but there is — even if it doesn’t have to be a lot of time, money, or effort.)
What I want to tell those women is that it absolutely is worth it and THEY are worth it. They are worth spending money on, they are worth making that effort for. Their image, after all, is everything about them — it’s how they show up in the world and in their relationships, it’s how and what they tell the world about who they are and what they stand for.
It doesn’t get more important and less superficial than that.
