Michelle Obama’s clothes: Working the twinset
Here's Michelle O, keeping it cool in a tank-and-cardi combination. It really works for her, although I have to say the tank alone (bare arms, even a pair as toned as hers) doesn't seem quite right in the campaign setting. It's just not quite pulled-together enough. And I'm actually not sure I love the white tank, either. But I really do like the blue twinset — it's a flattering color for many skin types (warm undertones and cool alike). As for the flowered skirt — I don't love the flowers, either, but maybe on a sunny day in Florida it hit the right note.
That all sounds as if I hate the ways she looks, but I don't. (She looks better on some days than on others, just like the rest of us!) She's done a great job of shaking up the conventional First Lady look. (Sarah Palin has also disrupted conventional images of political power, but not in a way I'd consider beneficial to women, politicians — or anyone, really.)
