Opposites attract

Posted by Ketura

There are some GREAT combinations happening this season. Here are a few that should get you thinking about what’s possible.

Rugged and refined

Example: Flared denim pants and a dainty lace top paired with a camel or taupe spring ankle boot.

Where to wear it: This look is easy to pull off. It’s a great put-together look to wear at the farmers market, running errands, or out to lunch.

Hard and soft

Example: An olive safari-style shirt tied at the waist with a darker olive, multilayered silk ball skirt.

Where to wear it: Try this out at your next dressy event, art opening, or garden wedding.

Tough and sweet

Example: Above-the-knee black-leather dress with girly ruffled or pleated details, paired with an ankle strap heel.

Where to wear it: This is a great look for a downtown loft party or an evening wedding with an edgy crowd.

Old and new

Example: Here’s a twist to the traditional summer floral-print dress. Now it’s in a techno print, with a few bold flowers instead of a smaller all-over floral pattern. Pair it with a strappy flat and statement earrings for a flirty look.

Where to wear it: Try for attending a school reunion or your next date night.

Rough and delicate

Example: A black-leather obi belt wrapped with a silk tunic dress in nude or rose paired with black pointy flats or  high heels.

Where to wear it: Wear this look in the office with flats, a simple necklace and a bucket bag. Or this look can be worn for date night with heels, stacked bangles, and a clutch.

Roughanddelicate

Athletic and fashion forward

Example: Mesh bomber jacket with skinny track pants paired with an ankle boot, flatform sandal or platform wedge sneaker, and a cross body bag.

Where to wear it: This look may be inspired by gym wear but it’s not actually for the gym. Wear to brunch or out for drinks with girlfriends.

Do these fashion pairings intrigue your senses (but make you nervous)? Let’s find the right looks for you. Call me!
