Now we learn from the McCain campaign, courtesy of Politico, that the clothes are headed for charity after the election. Of course! Why didn’t we think of that!?

Glad you enjoyed!
Okay here’s the thing to remember: If an organization is gonna give things to charity, they announce it right up front, like the minute they decide that’s what they’re gonna do so they can get maximum publicity for their efforts and can’t be accused of extravagance from the get go. This “giving the wardrobe to charity” business is a last minute scramble to salvage Palin’s floundering image and the face of the GOP. They never intended to give squat away! Hypocrites and liars the bunch of them!
I’m certain Palin needed some styling help and a few clothing items…..think of the missed opportunity to enlist Kohl’s department store to help dress and style the new Palin. Instead of $150K, she could have been re-styled for $5 – 10K. “Real American” women can relate to shopping at Kohl’s for very casual to separate wear, and even though those prices might be over the top for some, they are far more realistic than Neiman Marcus. During the summer, Michelle Obama wore a great dress when she went on “The View”. Once she told the cast that she bought the dress for $130.00 at White House/Black Market, the store sold out everywhere.
Like every other part of the campaign, they have worked in reverse. Choose her first, vet her later. Re-dress her in splendor, come up with excuses and explanations later. McCain and Palin have a little less than 2 weeks to reform their reform campaign.
Beverly C, you are so totally right. This had the definite whiff of a CYA PR maneuver. –kp
