Sarah Palin in Alaska: RNC wants its clothes back
From the LA Times:
Wednesday, but the controversy over her role on the ticket flared as
aides to John McCain disclosed new details about her expensive wardrobe
purchases and revealed that a Republican Party lawyer would be
dispatched to Alaska to inventory and retrieve the clothes still in her
possession.
That should be interesting. I'd love to see which stodgy 65-year-old white guy with thinning hair will be riffling through a closetful of Valentino suits. Or maybe the RNC will continue to keep poor Nicole Wallace involved and send her instead. Did Palin buy a little LV luggage to cart it all home? Did she offload it in some upscale Phoenix thrift store before heading home? Tell me your wildest scenario about what has happened or will happen with these clothes. (Let me guess: donated to a silent auction for an autism charity in a desperate attempt to win the PR war here.)
Why should we even care at this point? Our guy is going to the White House with two cute girls and a beautiful stylish wife. And, we hope, a better agenda than the one we've had to live with for the past eight year.
Here's why: There's talk of Sarah Palin running for, yes, senator in a special election. That could happen if Ted Stevens wins his election (ballots are still being counted) but steps down (as McCain and Palin both asked him to do, though Palin has since apparently changed her mind). Then she could run in a special election (though the details here too are complicated). Read the whole story here.
