This is who people think they’re voting for — Everymom, tacky, in the supermarket. But that’s not what they’re getting anymore, and her style transformation proves it — she’s not just like all those voters out there, struggling to keep a roof over their heads. She’s spending the equivalent of a mortgage payment on a jacket, when any self-respecting stylist could have accomplished a little image tweaking with a trip to H&M or even Marshall’s.
For what it’s worth, though, we should remember that taste isn’t truly the issue here. The issues are: compliance with tax law, authenticity, and character (oh, and that pesky thing, experience).
