Loving what you wear
Wouldn’t it be fun to wake up every day and put on something you love?
It’s possible, and what’s more, you deserve nothing less.
Here are a few ways you can bring that love into your wardrobe, so you look and feel amazing every day.
Shop for what you love
To have a wardrobe filled with what you love, you may need to change how you shop. Slow down and be strategic. Allow yourself time to try things on, look in the mirror, and ask yourself whether you love it.
If you’re already doing that, you may need to make a different kind of change. Give yourself allowing time to explore new possibilities (rather than settling for the same thing you always seem to buy even when you tell yourself not to).
Take the time to explore and have fun with clothes. Don’t settle for so-so when you can reach for fabulous instead.
Wear your heart on your sleeve
People collect the things they love.
Think about what you collect: small clay animals, framed horticultural prints, New York snowglobes.
Whatever it is that gets your heart racing, there’s a good chance you can find a piece of clothing or an accessory these days with a print of that thing.
How about a blouse with your favorite flower or a knit sweater with the image of your favorite animal woven in? Or a scarf depicting your favorite city?
Indulge your love of details
Look at your wardrobe or look through a magazine.
Are there details you love? Maybe they’re vintage (think: lace, ruffles, bows, tucks, or appliqués). Maybe they’re edgier: studs, fringe, or grommets.

Or maybe you love lace.
Look for new ways to bring the details you love into your wardrobe, and maybe just by dipping your toe in—with details on a bag, shoes or boots, or at the hem of a dress or skirt.
Wear colors you love (and that love you back)
Many people are good about surrounding themselves with colors they love in their home, like in paint and furniture. How about having clothes in your favorite colors, too?

Which one do you love?
While you mull over that navy tufted velvet couch, find a top, pant, or dress in the same color and enjoy it right now.
Shine a spotlight on what you love
We spend a lot of time focusing what we don’t like about how we look. Let’s take a break and focus on what we love instead.
Maybe it’s your shoulders and chest: Are you wearing pieces that flatter your upper torso? (Choose tops or dresses with a great neckline.)
Love your legs? Show them off in shorter skirts and dresses or pants in fabrics like lace, velvet, and jacquard.
Direct the attention where you want it to go and feel the love.
